GIBS Business School Placement

While getting into GIBS Business School is not entirely straightforward, relative to other B-Schools, the process is more streamlined and flexible.

BBA: 

•  Yes, you are eligible for direct admission after the completion of class 12.
•  No entrance examination is necessary.
•  Admission decision is largely made on class 12 aggregate marks and sometimes by a general interview.

PGDM (MBA):

•  Admission is not entirely direct - an entrance examination score will be necessary (e.g. CAT / MAT / CMAT / ATMA or some other type) at minimum.
•  You will be evaluated also on the basis of two additional requirements: (i) Group Discussion and (ii) Personal Interview.

Flexibility:

•  You may apply first and submit your exam score after (if permitted).
• The School will evaluate your total profile - academic performance, soft skills as evidenced by interview performance.

At the GIBS Business School, placement preparation starts early on, not just in the last year of school. The school places strong emphasis on continual training so that when students do get placed there is sufficient training at the time the actual placements take place.

• Starting from the first year: Students receive training during the first trimester through programs such as the Finishing School (CPMP) program.
• Continuous skill development: Throughout the entire course, students receive continuous skill development with respect to aptitude, communication, resume writing, and both group discussion (GD) and interview skills.
• Internship-based learning: Before actual placements, all students will have received practical experience through an internship.
• Formation of placement committee: Students can participate in the placement process from the first year, to understand how the process works.
• Timing for actual placements: Placements typically take place on campus starting in the second year (approximately in October) after the students have completed their training.

Placement support system at GIBS Business School

1. First Year – Foundation Building

•  You can practice for interview rounds / group discussions via mock interviews and group discussions.

•  There are guest lectures, corporate presentations and networking events where you can meet business leaders in person.

7. Continuous Evaluation and Feedback

• Placement cell provides regular assessments that show your level of improvement and helps identify strengths.

8. Pre-Placement Training

•  There is an intensive pre-placement training program, so that the student is fully prepared for the final placement.

9. Final Placement Assistance

• The placement team connects students with companies from various industries for placement.
