Hello, yes you can take GRE after B.Sc., it is usually taken after a Bachelors degree to pursue Masters degree majorly in US and Canada. There is no eligibility criteria on the whole.
Why don't you check: ets.org/gre, this is the official GRE website.

You may start preparing it now and strengthen all your basic concepts as now a days mock tests are available on net. That will give you an idea about how much more preparation or coaching is required. Since, scores for GRE are valid up to 5 years and TOEFL 2 years, you can take tests in the final year.

Hello Zeeshan,
There is a huge competition in GATE and its completely uncertain to get a seat until/unless you are so talented.
But when it comes to GRE, there are thousands of options available. If not admitted to one university, you can get in another but same is not the case with GATE.
Better choose GRE and try for scholarship.
Also, if you think you can crack GATE then go for it.

Hi Harsha, it is difficult to answer if you will get admission as it is a decision taken by the university after evaluating all competing applicants. A GRE score of 310 and above usually is recommended but class profiles comprises of students with varying education background. You seem to have a decent profile. Give the TOEFL and aim the CGPA of 8 to 9 as you mentioned. Try to engage in more activities like project work, a very good internship or final year project should help.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States.
the exam aims to measure verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not entirely based on any specific field of study outside of the GRE itself.
Aspirants who are interested in pursuing a master's degree, specialised master's course, MBA or doctoral degree can sit for the GRE Test.
In India, GRE 2016 is offered only in the computer based format administered at Prometric testing centers.
