The following universities and colleges across India offer a B.A. (Hons) in Ancient History and Archaeology:

University of Delhi (DU): This degree programme is offered in several DU affiliates, such as St. Stephen's College, Hindu College, and Miranda House. The history and archaeology departments in these colleges have a very bright reputation and quality faculty.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU): A programme which has been designed to give a comprehensive at all aspects of ancient history and archaeological studies is B.A. (Hons) in Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archaeology.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU): Courses in ancient history and archaeology are available at New Delhi's JNU, through its School of Social Sciences. Most of the programs are post-graduate and research-level but some undergraduate courses covering closely related areas are available.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU): This one also has a B.A. (Hons.) programme in History, with Specialization in Ancient History and Archaeology. The university believes in hardcore research and has quite a lot of good infrastructure for the archaeology students.

Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune: More than any other open college in the country, this is an institute that deals primarily with archaeological and ancient historical studies. That doesn't mean, however, that it isn't good for undergraduates. It just happens to be more known for postgraduate and research programs.

Usually, direct admission into the MA programme at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is not open for most of its courses. Entrance exams are held for selection for MA courses. The entrance exam administered by the university gauges the applicants' knowledge of the subject area of the programme the candidate desires.

However, in some cases, certain exceptions of programs having specific criteria might grant admission without taking the entrance exam, probably because of good grades or any specific requirement set by the university.

Visit either the official website of AUD or inquire in the admissions office to know whether you qualify for direct admission or under what conditions you might qualify for any exceptions.

An Economics Hons degree can provide a number of job avenues that many companies have for their campus recruitment. Companies from finance, consulting, government offices, research organizations, and multinational companies usually state that they seek graduates possessing strong analytical and quantitative abilities; these are developed at their peak conditions through an Economics Hons program.

An Economics graduate could pursue including, but probably not limited to, any of the following areas such as data analyst, financial analyst, market research analyst, economic consultant, public policy, and planning. Some sectors may even offer openings in sales, marketing, or management particularly related to business development or product management as strategic analysis and market knowledge do form part of their scope.

The Kakinada Campus of Andhra University mainly focuses on engineering and technical courses, while the Visakhapatnam main campus has a wide variety of courses, including MA.

The placements for MA students are mostly oriented towards teaching-related jobs, content writing, and research, public administration, or other areas dealing with the humanities. 

The average package for MA graduates is quite less when compared to technical courses, as it ranges between ?2.5 LPA to ?4.0 LPA depending upon the specialization, skills, and job market demand. However, some of the streams such as Public Administration, English Literature, or Mass Communication tend to have better chances when coupled with extra qualifications or relevant internships.
