Northern Illinois University expects an IELTS score of 6 or above from undergraduates and 6.5 or above from postgraduate candidates. Students coming from non-native countries must prove their English language proficiency by submitting the scores for IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, and Duolingo. There is no pass or fail in the IELTS exam and candidates can retake the exam as many times as they want. However, every time the applicant plans to take the IELTS exam, they would need to pay the registration fee too. To avoid taking IELTS exam multiple times, it is better that applicants prepare for the exam in one go and pass it too with the required band score too. This will save the applicant from re-appearing for the exam multiple times and save their money too.
