The university does not have a specific requirement of IELTS scores. The requirement can vary for different courses. It generally ranges between 7.0-8.0 for most courses. Some courses may also ask for 8.5. Students are advised to check the course page for the course they wish to pursue.
For Graduate courses, a score of 8.0 is usually required. Students with a IELTS score less than that, a TOEFL Speaking score less than 27, or DET score less than 125, have to take a language test at Princeton University USA.

The difficulty is exactly same. The questions are same. But, if you have good typing speed, computer test feels easier for Writing task. Also, for Reading task, the screen is split so you can see passage and questions together, which many students find helpful.

In IELTS exam, if you get less marks in only one subject like Writing or Reading, you don't need to give the full IELTS test again. In this case you can take only that module of IELTS test. This saves your time and money. But you must book this within 60 days of your original test.

The IELTS exam is a test to prove your English level for study abroad or work. Countries like UK, Canada, and Australia need this proof for your student visa. Without this score, the embassy thinks you cannot manage there.
