The answer to this question of whether an average student can get into IIM can be both yes and no depending on the definition of an average student.

  • Based on Academics (Class 10/ Class 12/ Graduation): While a student with average scores in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation with a good CAT score certainly has good chances of getting a call from IIM-A, chances are less for someone with an average CAT score.

The admission process of IIM Tiruchirappalli takes into consideration the candidate’s performance in CAT, IIM Trichy will use the CAT percentile for shortlisting candidates for PI. The table below indicates the minimum performance expected from candidates to be shortlisted for the PI.

Composite scores represent small sets of data points that are highly related to one another, both conceptually and statistically and percentile means you have scored better than 93% percent students who participated in the exam. It is not a rank neither it is your score. If there were 100 students who appeared for the exam and you got 93 percentile, it means you have done better than the other  93 students.

Given below are the eligibility criteria for admission to the MBA programme at IIM Sirmaur:

  • Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate.
  • Candidates should have a valid CAT percentile based on which they will be selected for further admission rounds.
  • Selected candidates will now have to take the Personal Interview (PI) round. Those who qualify for the PI round will be required to report to the admission cell at IIM Sirmaur for document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.

IIM Visakhapatnam aslo offers Post Graduate Program in Digital Governance and Management (PGPDGM) spread over four Semesters of five months each. This programme is launched under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India (GOI). The eligibilty criteria of PGPDGM 55% aggregate in Bachelor's Degree and Selection includes CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMV Test+minimum of three years of full-time work experience.
