CAT is held every year around the month of November. It contains 3 sections namely, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation/ logical reasoning and vocabulary part. You need to clear different overall cutoff and sectional cutoffs for different business schools. It is a relative exam which means that your performance is judged in comparison to the performance of other candidates.

I would encourage you to get your NCERTs and RS Agarwal sorted out for reasoning and competitive exam. For Verbal Ability, refer to Wren & Martin or some primer like McGraw Hill or Pearson. Solve a lot of mock tests and practice a lot of questions.
For the interview, prepare well about your background and also about the subjects in which you have high marks. The panelists are mainly interested in screening your confidence. You must definitely try to give some mock interviews.

To get into IIM, Indore or Ahmedabad, you can give CAT exam for 2 year PGDM course. IIM, Indore also runs 5-year IPM course (last 2 years are held along with PGDM students), which you can join after 12th class. You can also enter through GMAT score if you are an NRI.

Well, it will be stupid, if I say that a job will be guaranteed, because it will all depend on an individual's caliber and performance, but yes such exposure and training that you will get from IPM will surely enhance the probability of this thing manifolds.

Yes, no particular preparation is required for IPM as such, if the concepts of an individual is clear. So, both the preparations can be done simultaneously.

IIM Kozikode

To answer your second question, of course it is possible. You'll have to first take CAT.

No. You probably won't be eligible for that. People apply for IPM immediately after completing their 12th. If you want to do an MBA, apply for the PGP course and for that you will have to appear for CAT.
