IIT Guwahati BTech cutoff 2024 for released for the last round, based on students' rank in JEE Advanced. The cutoff was released for different categories under the AI quota. For the  SC and ST quota candidates, the last-round closing ranks can be checked in the table below:

IIT Guwahati Cutoff 2024 was concluded for admission to BTech courses at IIT Guwahati. The Cutoff was released categpry-wise in the form of opening and closing cutoff ranks. The last-round closing ranks for the General AI category ranged between 623 and 9178. The most competitive course to get into the college was BTech in CSE; and the least competitive among all the courses was BTech in Biosciences & Bioengineering.

For the OBC AI category candidates, the last-round cutoff ranged between 364 and 4051. The toughest course for the OBC AI was also BTech in CSE and the easiest one was BTech in Biosciences & Bioengineering.

Students pursuing BTech from IIT Guwahati can participate in the placement drive of the institute. IIT Guwahati recorded 100% placements across all BTech courses in 2024.  The the highest stipend offered during IIT Guwahati internships 2023 was INR 1.60 LPA. Further, a total of 15 internship offers were made to BTech students. IIT Guwahati mechanical department has been given a lot of awards for having a high passing percentage of students. To apply for BTech at IIT Guwahati candidates are required to fill out the application form by visiting the official website of JEE Main. Given below are step-by-step process to apply for BTech:

Step 1: Register and appear for JEE Mains exam.

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur offer strong M.Des programs with IIT Guwahati known for prominent faculty and labs (ergonomics, usability) and IIT Kanpur offers interdisciplinary flexibility and good placements (especially in UI/UX).

The choice depends on whether you prefer Guwahati's strong faculty/campus or Kanpur's varied focus because both are highly reputed.

For BTech in CSE, IIT Guwahati has witnessed a fluctuating trend over the years for the General category students. The cutoff has decreased from 600 in 2021 to 589 in 2022, and then increased to 654 in 2023.JEE Advanced IIT Guwahati cutoff 2024

IIT Kharagpur, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Guwahati are three similarly-ranked Engineering institutes in India that are closely ranked by the NIRF Ranking Institution.
