Students looking for the right course in the right college are majorly concerned about the placements they are going to receive after the course completion. In NIRF Engineering ranking 2023, IIT Guwahati is ranked at 7 and IIT Hyderabad is at 8th position. Students looking for rank-based IIT selection, find these two institutes comparative with each other. Of all the branches CSE stands out in terms of placements and hence is the most preferred among students.

IIT Guwahati JAM Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 2. The most competitive course as per the Cutoff was M.Sc in Mathematics and Computing, for the General AI category candidates, with the Cutoff of 75. For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff for M.Sc in Mathematics and Computing stood at 148.
If not eligible for IIT Guwahati, candidates can opt for IIT Dhanbad with the linient cutoff of 401 or IIT Bhilai with a Cutoff of 511, for M.Sc in Mathematics and Computing for the General AI category candidates.

IIT Guwahati cutoff 2024 has been released across various specialisations in the form of opening and closing ranks. IIT Guwahati MSc cutoff 2024 ranged between, 75 and 310 for the General AI category candidates, wherein, the top courses with the highest ranks needed were MSc in Mathematics and Computing (75), MSc in Mathematics (193), and MSc in Chemistry (267). The GATE score required for M.Tech admission at IIT Guwahati depends on several factors. Different programs may have varying cut-off scores based on their popularity and difficulty level. The cut-off scores are generally lower for categories like SC, ST, OBC as compared to the general category.
However, predications based on previous years cut-off, GATE score cut-off for IIT Guwahati M.Tech programs in 2024 to be in the following range:
- General (GN): 751 - 757
- EWS: 760 - 765
- SC: 515 - 520

Candidates with BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ Graduation (AMIETE) with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI are eligible for the M.Tech in IIT Guwahati. Further, there is 0.5% CPI or 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Candidates must also have valid score in the national level exam GATE exam and they must also participated in the COAP Counselling (GATE not required for the sponsored category).

IIT Guwahati B.Des cutoff 2024 has been released for UCEED. As per the round 2 cutoff, the closing rank for B.Des was 76 for the General AII India category students. Talking about IIT Guwahati UCEED cutoff 2023, the B.Des cutoff ranged between 70 and 86. So, considering the 2023 cutoff, candidates must secure a rank between 70 to 90 to get into IIT Guwahati for B.Des admission.

I don't think so, as studying abroad may cost you a lot, and you know IIT's are one of the best in the world, so I think you should think again about it. The placements at IIT Guwahati are great as well. The highest domestic package offered during IIT Guwahati placements 2023 was INR 1.20 crore per annum, and the highest international package stood at INR 2.40 crore per annum.

IIT Guwahati has a seat intake of 114 for the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) specialisation offered under the BTech programme. This seat intake has been derived from the official website of JoSAA. At the time of counselling, candidates are admitted based on their rank in JEE Advanced and in accordance with the seat intake and the reservation policies.
