At the time of registration applicants should write their name as filled in JAM application form. However, during document verification process candidates can give an affidavit on INR 50/- Stamp Paper stating that the two names belong to the same person and if found false at any stage then his/her seat in CCMN counselling will be cancelled.

Students can check the experience of previous year students who gave IIT JAM exam:
Khushi: IIT JAM Biotechnology exam difficulty level was moderate. In Biology questions from Immunology, Genetics, Recombinant DNA Technology topics were asked. In sections, i.e., NAT, both from physics and mathematics questions were asked. Section A and B was comparatively easy than Section C.
Sudarshan: IIT JAM Economics subject exam difficulty level was easier than last year. Some direct questions were asked from liquidity preference money supply and few were asked from consumer and supplier chain product.

As of previous year, the Biotechnology paper was also of moderate to tough difficulty level. A few questions were direct and easy to answer. Molecular Biology and Cell Biology had the maximum number of questions. A few questions were really easy to answer while some required theoretical knowledge. Molecular Biology and Cell Biology had the maximum number of questions.

The exam difficulty level as compared from previous year was easy, however, the questions came this year were quite lengthy. NAT type questions took longer time to solve. In macroeconomics, ISLM had the maximum weightage and many questions were there on matrices. The IIT JAM Economics cut off will be higher than last year cut off.

IIT JAM 2026 Cut off will be released in two to three days after the result declaration. IIT JAM 2026 result will be announced on March 20, 2026.
The authorities will be preparing the JAM cut off 2026 after checking various factors related to the entrance examination. IIT JAM 2026 cutoff will vary according to the subject and category that the candidate belongs to.

IIT JAM 2023 cutoff for IIT Mandi M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics is less than last year. As per the last year's IIT JAM admission list 4, the closing cut off for IIT Mandi MSc Applied Mathematics was 621, this year graph got a hike, and the closing cut off for IIT Mandi for MSc Applied Mathematics is 511. Hence as per the analysis, the cut off trends are improving. Candidates can check out round-wise IIT Mandi cut off 2023 for IIT JAM 2023 Admission Lists for the General category in the table below:

IIT Jam, the exam is conducted online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). The IIT Jam will have two papers. Paper 1 consists of Chemistry, Geology, and Mathematics. Paper 2 covers economics, Biotechnology, Physics, and Mathematics Statitics. The duration of the IIT Jam exam is three hours. The questions paper has Multiple Choice (MCQ) and Integer Value (Numerical Value Answer) type questions. IIT Jam exam papers will be for 100 marks.

IIT JAM exam 2026 is going to be held on Feb 15, 2026. The result will be declared on March 20, 2026. Admit card will be out on the official website.
