Yes, you might get admission to IIT BHU with a rank of 700 if you belong to the OBC AI category. For this category, the highest acceptable rank was 836 for the MSc in Physics course. 

If you belong to the SC, ST or EWS AI category, then the chances of admission at IIT BHU might be better. For the above-mentioned categories, the highest acceptable ranks were 1599, 4420 and 832, respectively.

 IIT BHU JAM cutoff 2026 ranged from 328 to 507 for the General AI category. Hence, this category of students need a rank of at least 507 to be elgible for admission. Students who belong to other categories can check the table below to know the highest rank acceptable.

  • SC: 1599
  • ST: 4420
  • EWS: 832

The rank needed for admission at IIT Guwahati would depend on the category, round and course. For the General AI category, the last round closing ranks ranged from 104 to 384. Hence, General AI category students need to attain a rank of at least 384 to be considered eligible for admission. Students can look at the table below to know the highest acceptable rank for other categories.

Yes, BSc students are eligible for IIT JAM. They have to complete their graduation or must be in the final year of graduation while applying for JAM. Admisison is offered to M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech.), MS (Research), M.Sc. - M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc. - Ph.D., M.Sc. - Ph.D. Dual Degree, and Integrated‐ Ph.D (I-PhD).

Students who have a score above the JAM qualifying cutoff and are mentioned in the merit list can apply for the counselling process. The counselling will be held online. JAM counselling schedules are available online.

IIT JAM 2026 cutoff was released on March 21, 2026. Candidates can check the cutoff at official website. This is the qualifying cutoff. Candidates who score above the IIT JAM qualifying cutoff can participate in the counselling process.
