IIT JAM

IIT JAM counselling registration commenced on March 27, 2026 onwards. The last date to apply for admission was April 15. The form was available at the JOAPS portal.

IIT Bombay conducted IIT JAM 2026. The exam was held on February 15, 2026, as computer based test. JAM 2026 was conducted seven papers. 

Candidates ranks in IIT JAM must be under 500 for admission to IIT Delhi. Below is IIT JAM 2025 opening and closing rank for GEN category. Here we have considered round 1 cutoff.

Around 3000 seats are reserved at IITs for postgraduate programmes. Admission to IITs MSc programmes is based on JAM score. 

IIT JAM is conducted for admission to postgraduate course offered Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). JAM score is also used for admission to NITs, IISc, IIPE, JNCASR, IISER Pune, IISER Bhopal, IIPE, CFTIs, DIAT and SLIET.

Joint Admission Test for Masters is conducted for 100 marks. 90+ marks is consider to be the highest marks in JAM. The highest marks scored by JAM topper is mentioned below.

• Biotechnology 88 marks.
• Physics - 90 marks
• Mathematics - 95 marks
• Chemistry - 90 marks

IIT JAM total mark is 100. Candidates need to obtain 70+ marks for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). 70+ marks will help to obtain a rank between 1 and 150.

IIT JAM 2026 cutoff for IIT Kharagpur is available online. GEN category students with JAM rank between 9 and 605 were offered admission in round 1. Candidates can check the JAM cutoff for IIT Kharagpur on the website jam2026.iitb.ac.in.

IIT JAM Physics cutoff for the general category is 12.04. Candidates whose rank is above the qualifying rank are eligible for admission. Moreover, the JAM admission cutoff for rounds 1 & 2 is also available online.
