Counselling and admissions process in IITs and IITs is offered by JoSSA. JoSSA is a committee, provides a single platform for admission process in IITs, NITs, IIITs and many other colleges based upon the rank in JEE Advanced and JEE Main exams. In NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and many other private college counselling will be based upon JEE Mains rank while in the case of IITs, it will be JEE Advanced rank. *Eligibility criteria to participate in JoSSA counselling process:

Yes, the minimum marks are 75 percent, so it will be useless.

If you consider long-term career opportunities, IITs provide wonderful opportunities for PhD.Also, some research schools in Europe and certain universities abroad hire IIT M.Sc students for a Ph.D position based on interviews and GPA(sometimes, research experience plays a more important role).

Hello Syed,
Even though IITs have a fantastic reputation, studying there is not cheap. On an average, only the tution fee is ranging about Rs.2 lakhs per year in IITs. Of course, they offer plenty of scholarships to deserving students.
