With this rank, it is difficult to get top NITs like Rourkela, Warangal, or Durgapur, especially for General or OBC candidates. However, you still have chances at NIT Jalandhar (for M.Sc. Life Sciences or related courses), NIT Manipur, and NIT Sikkim through later rounds of CCMN counselling, as Life Sciences seats are easier to get than pure Biotechnology. If you belong to the SC or ST category, your chances are better, and you can aim for NIT Rourkela, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jalandhar, or IIIT Allahabad in related fields.

To get into an M.Sc programme at an IIT, you generally need a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA). Additionally, you must qualify for the Joint Admission Test (JAM) exam, which is the primary entrance exam for M.Sc programs at most IITs.
