These days admissions are strictly done on the basis of other entrance exams. Without this evil, there is normally no admission in engineering colleges. Depending on your rank, you will get the college. The best colleges are NITs.

No, actually, the real reason why they are upper in rank is that the total number of research papers published, number of placements, number of GRE and GMAT qualifiers and many other factors form that ranking.

Pedagogy at IITs and conventional engineering colleges differs quite a lot. Conventional Engineering colleges teachers do not have flexibility to modify syllabus and use modern teaching technologies. They focus on covering syllabus and more on remembrance of facts and examinations are subjective. Whereas teaching at IITs is focused on developing sound theoretical base and its application using logical and creative thinking by students. IIT facility has lot of freedom in setting course curriculum and grading. IITs have best of facilities with sharper student population. As per the information available on the web, I got to know that JEE Mains paper 2 results are releasing on 27th May 2017 and AAT results will be out on 18-19 June while the exam for AAT is going to be conducted on 14th June.
