Getting into IIT take a lot of hardship and dedication. For an SC candidate, I think securing 40% marks are sufficient to get into IIT (but it depends on which IIT do you want to go for and also the branch you choose matters). The other thing that affects the result is the difficulty of the question

You have to write JEE Advanced to get into IITs. With this rank, you can only get into NITs or IIITs.
You must meet the cut off marks in JEE Advanced to get into an IIT.

In IIT, if you studied well, then you get placements through any Branch, but if you want high package, so I suggest you to opt Computer engineering.

Yes, you have to join IIT coaching classes after 10th only. It's of 2 years, i.e. 11-12th.
