IMU CET

1. Age criteria – For Btech, BSc, BBA and DNS

• Minimum age: 17years

• Maximum age: 

• For Male: General-25 years, OBC (NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years

• For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

2. No age criteria for Mtech, MBA and M.Sc program

3. For the PG graduate Diploma course in Marine Engineering - Maximum age: Male : For General-28 years OBC (NCL)-31 years SC/ST-33 years. Female : For General-30 years OBC (NCL)-33 years SC/ST-35 years

Anyone who is minimum 17 years of age and have obtained 10+2/equivalent PCM Average with minimum 60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination) can apply for UG course.

For PG course anyone with BSc / BTech degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval can apply for various programme offered under PG courses.

The courses offered under UG are Btech, Mtech, BBA and DNS. MTech, MSc and MBA courses are offered under PG programme.

There are 6 main campuses of Indian maritime universities are Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai Port, Navi Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam

The IMU CET application form 2026 is closed now. The last date to apply was April 28, 2026. The registration process started on February 6, 2026.

The courses offered under UG are BTech, BSc, BBA and DNS. MTech, M.Sc and MBA programs are offered under PG programs at various IMU campuses or affiliated institutes, as well as DGS-approved pre-sea courses at Maritime Training Institutes.

For both UG and PG courses, the type of questions will be asked in exam are multiple choice questions.

There are three stages: the registration process, the IMU Common Entrance Test, and the online counselling process. After getting the Rank Certificate, candidates must apply for online counselling to seek admission to IMU campuses. For the Affiliated Institutes and other Maritime Training Institutes, they need to apply directly to the respective institutes using their IMU CET Rank Certificate.
