IMU CET or CUSAT both universities are great at their places selection of university depends on the your goal and future plans.

If you prefer a specialised focus on maritime studies and want to immerse yourself in the maritime industry, IMU may be the better choice.

If you value a broader engineering education with a strong reputation and good infrastructure, CUSAT could be a great fit.

The official date for application form and other events will be announced by the Indian Martime University. Candidates can apply for IMU CET 2025 through Online mode only. The link is made available on IMU's website. The IMU CET online application form consists of three portions:

  • Personal Details
  • Academic Details
  • Payment Details

Candidates have to fill in these three portions. Once the payment is successful, the candidate's dashboard will appear, from which they can download the filled-in application.

The syllabus for the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test, commonly referred to as IMU-CET is given below.

General Knowledge section includes Current affairs, History, Geography, Indian Constitution and General science.

Aptitude section includes Verbal reasoning, Numerical reasoning, Logical reasoning and Data interpretation.

Maritime Studies include Basic maritime terms and concepts, Shipping industry, Maritime history, Maritime regulations, Navigation, Meteorology and Seafarers' welfare.

IMU Visakhapatnam has released the Round 1 and Round 2 cutoff of IMU CET for admission to Naval Architecture courses. The institte accepts IMU CET entrance exam scores for admission BTech courses. During the IMU Vizag 2024 cutoff, the Round 2 closing ranks were 1930 and 2085 for BTech in Naval Architecture and Ship Building and BTech in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering courses for the General AI category students. So, considering the Round 2 cutoff, candidates with IMU CET rank of 1,737 are eligible to get admission at IMU Vizag for Naval Architecture courses.

IMU Mumbai accepts Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) scores for admission to BTech in Marine Engineering. IMUCET Round 2 cutoff is out and as per the data, the closing rank for BTech in Marine Engineering was 898 for the students belonging to the General AI category. The Round 1 cutoff for the same course was 475. So, considering both the rounds, stundent with a rannk of 3000 will not be eliginle to get admission at IMU Mumbai for BTech in Marine Engineering.

For admission to IMU Vishakhapatnam, the desired cutoff rank ranges between 36 and 2085, depending on the category to which the candidate belongs. The round 2 cutoff rank is out. Interested candidates are advised to visit the official website of the university regularly for all the updates regarding admission.

Indeed, Tolani Maritime Institute accepts scores from the IMUCET entrance test for enrollment in the majority of its courses. Additionally, TMI administers TMISAT, the college's own online assessment. It is required for candidates to pass both exams in order to be admitted to UG programs. A passing score on the IMUCET and TMISAT is required for admission. In addition to applying to various UG and PG programmes offered by IMU and its affiliated institutes, candidates must register on the IMU admissions portal in order to be considered for admission to a number of DGS-approved pre-sea programmes, including DNS, B.Sc. (Nautical Science), and B.Tech. (Marine Engineering) at any of the DGS-approved MTIs located throughout India. Based on the scores obtained in the IMU-CET, Rank Certificates will be given out. IMU-CET ranks will be used to determine admission. Admissions to BBA programmes will be determined by the quality of applicants' 10+2 grades.
