The college has not released its placement report for the year 2022. However, the 2021 placement statistics are available, according to which 100 students participated in the placement drive of 2021 and out of which 22 students got placed in top companies such as DHL, Airlift, APL Logistics, Adani Group, etc. So, the overall placement rate recorded was 22%. The overall placement rate dropped from 52% in 2020 to 22% in 2021. Placement package for Bsc nautical Science student is 36k-45k. and for DNS is 33k-35k, for MBA students package is 20k - 25k, for B.Tech placement is poor in chennai campus. This is better placements oppurtunities in equal terms of Southern Academy of Maritime Studies.

The BSc in Nautical Science salary in India ranges from INR 5 - 8 LPA. BSc Nautical Science salary per month in India can range between INR 20,000 to 80,000. The salary after doing BSc in Nautical Science is based on various factors including experience, job location, company, work experience, etc.The beginner can earn up to INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 per month. The average annual salary of an officer in the Merchant Office ranges between INR 1 Lacs and INR 2 Lacs per month after 5-6 years of employment.After completing your bachelor's degree and before joining as a cadet,  you must undergo pre-sea training for one year at Maritime Training Institute. Upon completing this compulsory training, candidates applying for cadet profile will work on the ships and complete 18 months of training.

The placement records are comparatively improving year by year providing great expo to the cadets.

Placements: Around 90% cadets get placements on campus, depending upon the type of companies they get placed their salary varies. Chevron, NYK, Pacific Basin, Feet Management, Dynacom, Dynagas, Shell, TORM, MOL and many more. The role of trainee is offered for initial stages.

The placement rate recorded in IMU Kochi placement drive 2021 was 22% which was much lower than the last year's placement rate which was 52% in 2020. The college has not released its placement report for the year 2022.

In my opinion IMU kochi is better for B.Tech, if you want to pursue your career in engineering field.

There might be an outside chances of Procurement jobs. With MBA in logistics and supply chain, you would be suitable for roles in areas of logistics, distribution, warehousing, supply/demand planning, manufacturing and procurement. Overall MBA is good at IMU Kochi.
