IMU Kochi only offers one specialisation in the BTech course, i.e., Marine Engineering. Further, the course is divided into eight semesters and offered in full-time mode. The minimum is Class 12 in PCM with at least an aggregate of 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English in Class 10 & 12. A 5% relaxation is given to SC/ ST candidates.

IMU is the central government university and if you are interested in merchant navy then you should hit to one of the campuses of IMU. Be very clear of what stream you want to choose (B.Sc, B.Tech, DNS, etc.it is costly B.E. / B.Tech (12 courses) 3 L - 18.6 L . The placement rate recorded in IMU Kochi placement drive 2021 was 22% which was much lower than the last year's placement rate which was 52% in 2020. To apply for BTech IT, the applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: Candidates must pass their 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 percent marks from a recognised institution. They must have majored in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in high school.The qualifying marks for GEN category (common rank list) students is expected to be 89.75, while for GEN (EWS category) students it is 78.21. For OBC-NCL students, the expected cutoff is 74.31, while for SC students it is expected to be 54 and for ST students, it is expected to be 44.Majority of companies won't even care about marks in 12th. IMU Kochi offers five academic programmes across Science management streams in Logistics, Transportation, Port Management and similar Maritime disciplines. Studies are very well in IMU and the placements is better for Bsc placements about 70% of students are placed in many streams like MBA and Nautical field. Top recruiting companies are Capgemini, Cogoport, etc.Of course imu kolkata is best among all of these for marine engineering because I was student of kolkata campus. placement is much better than others.BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture with at least 50% marks in final year from a recognised University/AICTE approved Institute/IIT with minimum 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam.

Indian Maritime University (IMU) offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of maritime studies. placement package for Bsc nautical Science student is 36k-45k. and for DNS is 33k-35k, for MBA students package is 20k - 25k, for B.Tech placement is poor in chennai campus. There might be an outside chances of Procurement jobs. With MBA in logistics and supply chain, you would be suitable for roles in areas of logistics, distribution, warehousing, supply/demand planning, manufacturing and procurement. Overall MBA is good at IMU Kochi.
