Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam is generally considered a Tier 2 IIIT. The institute has qualified faculty members who motivate students to gain new skills and knowledge. IIIT Kottayam has signed MOUs with various organisations for incubation centres, T&P activities, coding clubs, and research collaborations. The highest domestic package offered during placements for 2024 stood at INR 45 LPA. IMS IIIT Kottayam is spread over 53 acres of area which includes a hostel, bank, sports complex, Wi-Fi facility, library, and others.

IIIT Kottayam B.Tech admission is based on JEE Advanced Cutoff ranks. The IIIT Kottayam JEE Advanced Cutoff 2025 has been out for Round 1 seat allotment results, for admission to various B.Tech courses. The toughest course to get into the college for the General AI category candidates was Computer Science and Engineering, with the closing Cutoff rank of 33766. The easiest course for the General AI category was B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, with the closing cutoff rank of 35831

Amal Jyothi College of Engineering is compared based on M.Tech tuition fee parameters. AJCE is suggested as a cost-effective choice for pursuing an M.Tech course. The M.Tech tuition fee at AJCE is INR 1.2 lakh, while the M.Tech tuition fee at IIIT Kottayam is INR 5.2 lakh. However, the mentioned fee is taken from the official website/ sanctioning body. Having an SC category rank of 9,200 in JEE Main, getting into IIIT Kottayam or IIIT Dharwad for B.Tech courses might prove difficult, since the cutoffs of past years for SC candidates have been quite lower.

For example, in 2024, the closing ranks for SC students at IIIT Kottayam ranged from 3,545 to 10,370.

At the undergrdaute level, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam offers BTech courses to students. For BTech, a candidates must qualify Class 12 from the recognised board. Students must have to score 75% or above in Class 12 for the admission. The university accepts entrance exams are JEE Main,  DASA UG, and others.

The candidates are selected through national-level examinations conducted by different authorities. The accepted entrance exams are JEE Main, DASA UG, and others. If we compare the seats offered by the three institutes we will see that IIIT Kottayam has the most amount of seats offered for it BTech programme. IIIT Surat and IIIT Una offer 180 and 207 seats, respectively. On the other hand, IIIT Kottayam offers 556 seats for the BTech programme, which is more than the sum of the seats offered by the other two institutes.
