Definitely not, IISC is India's top institute, and students with top marks in JEE prefer IISCs. So don't worry try to get high marks next year or otherwise you may try to apply to other colleges based on your marks and category. I hope this answer will be useful for you.

Yes ofcourse. Very few people choose this stream so there is very less competition. So you don't have to struggle enough like other competitive exams. And yes it's totally depends upon your interest.

If you want to get into research programme M.Sc, then I think a rank of up to 200 will be fine, but there will be a detailed technical interview.
