To be eligible for the M.Tech programme at IIT BHU the aspiring candidates need to have a minimum of 60% in BTech. Aspirants with a score equal to or more than the cutoff also have to go through a counselling round. Once selected, aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

In order to get admission into BTech programme of IIT (BHU), a candidate should have passed Class12 with a minimum of 75 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They have to as well pass the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. Selection and JoSAA counselling is done by JEE Advanced rank. Counselling is only an option to those who meet all the criteria.

To secure admissison at IIT BHU for the BTech programme the aspiring candidates need to clear JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. Once the score is out the candidates have to participate in JoSAA counselling round. To be eligible for the BTech programme the candidates need to have a minimum of 75% in Class 12. Finally, Admission is confirmed after document verification and fee payment.

IIT Varanasi accepts JEE Advanced scores to allow admission to BTech, BArch and other courses, . Recently. IIT Varanasi Cutoff 2025 for the Round 1 seat allotment results has been released by the institute, based on candidates' performance in JEE Advanced. As per the Round 1 cutoff data, the closing cutoff for various courses ranged between 1838 and 19019. The toughest course out of all was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, with the last-round closing rank of 1838, for the General AI category candidates. IIT BHU has officially released the Round 1 cutoff ranks for MSc admissions through IIT JAM 2025, and the figures show a steady year-on-year change in the Chemistry program. The closing rank for General (All India) category candidates in MSc Chemistry was 453 in 2023, followed by a slightly lower cutoff of 387 in 2024.
