Bachelor of pharmacy is not included in these criteria and hence it will not be possible for you to appear for GATE and seek admission for M.Tech in IIT BHU.

To get admission to the IIT Varanasi MSc course, candidates must secure a valid score in the IIT JAM entrance exam. Only eligible candidates are then allowed to appear in the IIT JAM counselling process. Based on IIT JAM scores and counselling, final seat allotments are released round-wise for MSc admission across multiple specialisations and categories.

The JEE Advanced last-round closing rank to get admission into IIT Varanasi for BTech in Electrical Engineering for the General AI category candidates stood at 3608. For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff rank to get BTech in Electrical Engineering stood at 3404. For admission to BTech in Mechanical Engineering among the General AI category candidates, the last-round closing rank was 6596. For the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff to secure a seat in Mechanical Engineering was 2829.

The overall highest and average package recorded during IIT BHU placements 2026 was INR 167 LPA and INR 29 LPA. A total of 1,228 offers were made and 292 PPOs were made during the placement drive 2026.
