Industrial Design Centre - IIT Bombay

To get admitted to the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay, you must have the following documents:
Undergraduate qualifications: You must have the necessary undergraduate qualifications. 
CEED Score Card: You must have a valid result from the All India Common Entrance Examination for Design. 
equivalency certificate: If you have a degree from a foreign university, you must obtain an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities. 
Original certifications: Please bring your original certificates including your Aadhar card, Migration Certificate, Previous examination result card, etc.
Testimonials: You must bring testimonials with Xeroxed verified copies of each.

Admission to IIT Bombay's MDes programme is based on the applicants' performance in CEED, followed by a written test and inteview conducted by the institute. Candidates who have a valid CEED score and fulfil the preset eligibility requirements can visit the institute's official website to submit an online application. Such application must be submitted along with the required documents and the applicable application fee which varies from INR 150 to INR 300 for different reservation categories. The institute shortlists applicants based on their CEED score.  Shortlisted candidates have to appear for written test and an interview round at IDC School of Design. JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. For IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, the Round 1 cutoff for Chemical Engineering were 2207 and 2507, respectively for the General AI category candidates. For IIT Gandhinagar, the Round 1 cutoff for CSE was 1576. So, to answer your question, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are always a good options as compared to IIT Gandhinagar based on thier NIRF ranking. For Chemical Engineering, both IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are highly recommended as they have excellent faculty, research opportunities, and strong alumni networks. Also, Chemical Engineering offers you an opportunity to work in PSU, whereas CSE students don’t have that opportunity. On the otherhand, a CSE student have an opportunity to work in MNC’s with higher salary package even more than what PSU’s give. But since, IIT Gandhinagar has been ranked 18th in the NIRF Ranking 2023, you must consider its other aspects such as placement, ROI etc to take your decision. 

Candidates who wish to be a part of M.Des. offered at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay have to take the CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) to get into the institute.
