To get admission to Industrial Design Centre IIT Bombay can be competitive. Their minimum eligibility is easy to meet but beating the competition can be challenging. The admission committee decides your admission on the overall criteria of your previous academic performance, work experience, performance in design test, and performance in interview, portfolio, and CEED scores. Their test is about one and a half hours duration which will test your ability to creatively and appropriately solve simple design problems.

Yes, the Industrial Design Centre IIT Bombay is a good college. It runs at the Indian Institute of Technology offering excellent education in academics and research in design. They are ranked 5 out of 30 colleges in India in 2022 by IIRF in the design category. 

They offer courses in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, Animation and Mobility & Vehicle Design. They have a huge campus of 72 acres providing a great infrastructure and environment.

Candidates who wish to be a part of M.Des. offered at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay have to take the CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) to get into the institute. The CEET cutoff for admission to Industrial Design Centre (IDC) in IIT Bombay for the batch 2024 is not out yet. In general, the admission for the Master of Design (M.Des) course occur based on the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED). As a comparison, the previous year’s cutoffs for the courses related to different concentrations in design vary from 60 percentile to 80 percentile. The latest information about the cut offs can be found from the IIT Bombay official site.

Usually, the eligibility criteria for being admitted in to the M.Des. program, in the IDC, IIT Bombay requires that the candidate should have qualified the CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design). In most cases, candidates need to give CEED examination

UCEED, Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design sets the latest cut-off for the Bachelor of Design or B. Des programme at the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay. The programme that IDC, IIT Bombay is famous for is the Master of Design (M.Des). It is a highly ranked course due to covering a full list of topics that mix theory with the actual practice of designing. It includes Product Design, Interaction Design, Mobility and Vehicle Design among others.
