INI CET

With an ST category rank of 5,000 in the INI CET, securing a seat in MS General Surgery is highly unlikely. Historically, the closing ranks for ST candidates in this specialty have been significantly lower. For instance, in previous sessions, the cutoff rank for ST candidates was around 1,286, corresponding to a percentile score of 83.955. Given this, a rank of 5,000 falls well outside the typical range for admission to MS General Surgery programs.

Counseling of INI CET for January 2024 session starting from 28 November, 2023 has started. All those candidates who qualify as successful in entrance examinations may get their names enrolled with multiple rounds based upon merit scale that also contains allocation of seats through counseling process. Candidates are expected to register in counseling and choose their preference over colleges and courses.

 The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test was held on 19th May 2024. The concerned authority is All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The exams are conducted for admission into various postgraduate medical courses in participating colleges.

At an INI CET 2024 rank of 4,157, you are likely to get admissions into various postgraduate medical courses. According to the recent cutoffs, you could be eligible for the following MD courses: MD Physiology at an expected cutoff of about 2,632; MD Anatomy at an expected cutoff of about 3,611. Further, you may consider MD Community Medicine which has a cut-off around 939. Admission would be as per the category and as seats available during the counseling.

INI CET 2025 round-1 counselling began following mock round. Candidates were provided the window of two days, June 18 to June 20 to edit choices for round-1 counselling. Round-1 counselling result for July session was declared on June 25, 2025. The seat allotment result was uploaded online in PDF format. Candidates will have to download the result PDF from the official website, aiimsexams.ac.in. After seat allotment, candidates will have to report for document verification. Round-1 reporting had to be done from June 26 to June 30, 2025.

Deadline to edit choices for INI CET 2025 open round counselling was extended till February 15, 2025. The registration process was started online for open round. January 31 was the original deadline for registration for the open round. The seat allotment result for INI CET 2025 open round counselling was announced on February 21, 2025.

JIPMER Puducherry admit candidates to the MD programmes based on INI CET scores. Hence, the cutoff is released based on exam score and seat availability. In 2024, the closing rank was most competitive for MD in Radio Diagnosis course - 14. This was followed by MD in Paediatrics - 104 and General Medicine - 125. Candidates with exam score equal to or more than the cutoff become eligible to apply for admission.

With a rank of 4429 and a percentile of 92.284 in the INI CET, your chances of getting a seat in Ophthalmology at JIPMER Pondicherry are moderate. In general, a rank between 4300-4600 is expected for this specialty according to previous trends. Cut-offs, however, vary each year depending on applicants and difficulty levels of exams.
