IPMAT

The IPMAT counselling process begins after the IPMAT provisional short list is released. Candidates who qualified for the IPMAT counselling must follow the steps below to complete the counselling registration:

1. Visit the official website of IIM Indore
2. Click on the button reading 'New Registration'
3. Fill in the IPMAT application number and date of birth
4. Several details are prefilled from the IPMAT application form, including personal and academic details in the registration form.
5. Upload photograph and signature in the specified format and size.
6. Pay the counselling fee via the available payment modes. After successful payment, you will receive a payment confirmation message on your registered mobile number and email ID. Candidates then need to appear for the further selection procedure which is Personal Interview.

After the IPMAT exam results are declared, shortlisted candidates are invited for counselling. The counselling process typically involves document verification, seat allocation based on merit, and choice filling. However,  a general outline of how the IPMAT counselling process is typically conducted is as follows:

1. After the IPMAT exam is conducted, IIM Indore releases a list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible to participate in the counselling process after a few days. 

2. Shortlisted candidates receive call letters and emails containing details of the counselling dates, venue, and instructions for the counselling process.

3. Candidates then have to appear for a Personal Interview conducted by IIM Indore in about 8 cities in India.

4. During counselling, candidates must carry the documents for verification, such as IPMAT scorecard, admit card, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, passing certificates, category certificate, domicile certificate, photo ID proof, passport-sized photographs, etc.

5. Seats are allotted to candidates based on their IPMAT rank. After the seat allotment, candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat need to confirm their acceptance by paying the required admission fees within the specified time frame. This step confirms their seat in the programme.

6. In case of any vacant seats or withdrawal of candidates, there might be additional rounds of counseling or a waitlist to fill those seats.

The medium of IPMAT question paper is English. The structure of the IPMAT exam has not changed from the past few years. The latest IPMAT question paper structure is as follows:

• The IPMAT exam will be conducted in the computer-based test. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours).
• The exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Short-Form Questions carrying four marks each.
• The questions are from two different sections, namely Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. The QA section is divided into two parts.
• There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer. The total marks for the exam are 100.

The detailed section-wise exam pattern is as follows:

1. Verbal Ability: This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 50 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc.
2. Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's Quantitative Aptitude. It consists of 25 MCQs and 25 short-form answers. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra Geometry, Trigonometry etc.

Any amount of IPMAT preparation is not enough without practising previous years' question papers and other sample papers. Given below are some of the benefits of solving IPMAT question papers regularly:

• It will help candidates in identifying the strong and weak areas. Candidates can work on strengthening their weak areas and capitalize on their strengths. 
• By practicing IPMAT questions and sample papers candidates will get an insight into the IPMAT exam pattern.
• It will develop the question-solving ability in students. 
• IPMAT is a speed-based test. Solving previous years' sample papers will also increase the speed and accuracy of solving the questions. Solving the IPMAT question paper within the time limit is important but it is also important to solve the questions with accuracy and improve time mangement skills of the candidates. 
• It will give the aspirants a clear idea of how long it takes for them to solve questions in various sections.
