Yes, the PGDM programmes of Jagan Institute of Management Studies are AICTE & AIU approved which makes it equivalent to an MBA degree. Therefore, students can pursue PhD after completing PGDM nationally and internationally as well.  Candidates must ensure that they meet the preset eligibility criteria. Yes, Jagan Institute of Management PGDM is AICTE-approved, NBA accredited and granted equivalence to an MBA degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). JIMS also has International Accreditations like SAQS, and AACSB (South Asian Quality Standards) for imparting excellence in education which gives us international visibility amongst the premier Asian Institutes. According to the official JIMS website, both MBA and PGDM are postgraduate courses in Management. A postgraduate degree can be awarded by a University, whereas an autonomous institution can only offer the PGDM programme. JIMS specifically provides PGDM courses. In comparison Autonomous institutions have much more flexibility compared to the University system when it comes to curriculum, and faculty of pedagogy. In addition, the PGDM curriculum is usually broader and heavier with considerable emphasis on practical exposure, case studies, and soft skills training, closely aligning with the needs of industry and recruiters.

The institute has excellent placement opportunities for Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) courses. In the year 2022, as many as 96% of students from the CSE department got placement opportunities. This was the maximum number of students placed in this particular course.
