  • Your preparation should begin with NCERT books. Read these books carefully and complete all of back exercises. 
  • Make a reasonable plan for JEE Advanced 2026 that you can complete by end of the week. If plan is feasible, you must not postpone it to following week.
  • The syllabus of JEE Advanced is vast and can only be completed if you start your preparation as early as possible. It is very important to complete syllabus as all topics in JEE Advanced are important. 
  • You need to keep revising what you have studied. Concepts and basics of JEE Advanced must be on the tip of your tongue so that you can solve questions in exam with speed

No, as a foreign national, you do not need to qualify JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced. However, you must meet the other eligibility criteria specified in the Information Brochure of JEE (Advanced) 2025, such as educational qualification and age limit. Additionally, you must register directly for JEE (Advanced) 2025 without appearing for JEE (Main) 2025.

In case you forget JEE Main application number, recover it using following options:

  • Check email or mobile for a message containing JEE Main application number sent during registration.
  • Check printout confirmation page for application number.
  • Contact NTA authorities to know application number.
  • Once you recover your JEE Main application number, use it to login and fill out JEE Advanced application form.
  • If you do not remember your password, you can reset it using the forgot password option available on the official website of JEE Advanced.
  • JEE Advanced application form can only be filled out by those candidates who have qualified JEE Main cuto

The cut off was 14970 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech + M.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 21645 was the closing rank. BTech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

The JEE Advanced 2026 admit card will be issued on May. The exam will be held in May. The conducting IIT will release JEE Advanced admit card under the respective logins of the registered candidates at jeeadv.ac.in. To log in, candidates have to use their JEE Main 2026 application number and date of birth. The JEE Advanced admit card 2026 will be available for download until exam day. The exam date, time, reporting time, exam centre venue and all important instructions for exam day will be mentioned on the JEE Advanced 2026 admit card.

The dates of JEE Advanced 2024 has been announced on November 23 on the official website. The exam will be held on May 26, 2024 and the online application process will start from April 27, 2024.

The marking schemes change each year. Negative marks may be awarded for incorrect answers to some of the questions.

The candidates will be provided with the information on the marking scheme in the “Instructions to Candidates” section at the time of examination.

However, the only aspects of the JEE Advanced 2026 exam that remain constant each year are:

  • The exam will consist of two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each.
  • Both papers are compulsory.
  • Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, which are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
