Many of the engineering colleges in India take admission on the basis of JEE score.
It is not necessary. There are many exams like COMEDK, state level exams like UPSEE,VIT .
But most of government institutions are accepting JEE score only. And, most of good private college too.

JEE paper 1 marks are responsible for NITs and CFTIs. Your 2 paper marks are responsible for IITs only.

Sorry, but this score is not enough for getting into NIT. But you can get into some good private campus.NIT, Suratkal is very famous and students with a good rank below 3000 will get admitted each and every year.

For IPU you have to attempt IPUCET. IPU doesn't consider JEE and NATA. Therefore you must go for IPUCET.

No, your chances are nil unless you are from reserved category. Unless you have a rank of 15k or less, in paper 2, you can't get a seat in unreserved category, in VSSUT.

Cutoffs are originally decided based on the toughness of examination and the number of seat availables in NITS and IITS, and number of candidates applied. It is decided after registration of examination.
