Nope. JEE is not necessary for becoming a pilot. To become a pilot, you have two choices:-
1. Through Indian Air force (free as you train with IAF).
2. Through Flight school (will range from 30 to 60 lacs).
There are various institutes in India who trains pilot. For flying commercial aircraft, you need CPL (commercial pilot license). After that, you need to do type rating on an aircraft before joining airline as a commercial pilot.

You don't need to write JEE or DCET.
You are eligible to apply for a lateral entry. But not all colleges have such window. Look for a college that have a window.

Hello Suprajeet,
Admissions to engineering colleges in Odisha are based on JEE Mains results. Of course, the exam conducting authority makes a separate merit list of Odisha and admissions are based on this. If you appear for JEE Mains, then you will definitely score some marks, right? This will entitle you a rank for Odisha merit list. So, don't worry.

As we all knew that NCERT books cover a lot of topics but not briefly. So by going through those books, you will have wide knowledge about the topics but it would be better if you choose competitive books for better understanding. The most important point is that then you will be able to practice more questions which will help you in getting better results. NCERT books are quite good and enough.
