A *JEE Mains rank of 18,979* gives you a good chance of getting a seat in *NITs or IIITs*, but a *"free seat"* depends on factors like *category, home state quota, and fee waivers*. If you belong to a reserved category or have a low-income certificate, you may get tuition fee waivers under government schemes. Check JoSAA counseling cutoffs for exact details.

With *45.45 percentile* in JEE Mains, admission to *NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs* may not be possible, but you can explore *private engineering colleges* or state-level institutes that accept lower percentiles. Some universities also offer direct admission based on Class 12 marks. Checking individual college cutoffs will help you find the best option.

However, you can look for other institutes which have lower eligibility criteria for admission to BTech courses. To get more information, you can visit the Shiksha website.

A general EWS rank of 72384 in JEE Mains indicates that securing a seat in a top NIT is highly improbable, but you might still have a chance at a lower-ranked NIT depending on the chosen branch and the specific NIT's EWS category cutoff; it's crucial to analyze previous year cut-offs for different NITs to gauge your admission possibilities
