You can do this. Please solve at least last 5 years of JEE Main papers with proper time management. Spent at least 6-8 hours daily in preparation of JEE Main and specifically focus on NCERT text books. Each and every chapter of NCERT books should be learn at least thrice. Take helps from mobile internet for mock test and new problem solving methodologies. There are various JEE preparation books are available amazon and flipkart etc. At nominal cost. B.Tech courses are purely based on the ranks obtained in VITEEE (An entrance exam). Hence JEE Main score is not applicable here. Thank you.

JEE Main is not necessary. The admission in Genetic engineering is based on its own entrance test conducted by various private Universities. Like SRMJEE for SRM University. Bharath University conducts his own entrance exam known as BEEE for the same.
