JEE Main is not necessary. The admission in Genetic engineering is based on its own entrance test conducted by various private Universities. Like SRMJEE for SRM University. Bharath University conducts his own entrance exam known as BEEE for the same.

I suggest you go for checking of rank list of college In architecture stream on Shiksha website and then fill. Firstly, go through with all fact in every college. It help you lot of in choice filling. Best of luck.

In the revised examination, to be eligible for the main examination, candidates in the general category had to score at least 60% aggregate marks in the 12th grade examinations organized by various educational boards of India, while candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With.

You can get an NIT, but in the desired stream it would be difficult for you, as if you run behind the desired stream then you might lose a good NIT.

As per the last year of trends, The minimum cutoff percentile for JEE Main of TIET for B.Tech CSE are given below for general category.
1. TIET Patiala : 96.004
2. TIET Derabassi : 85.72.

If you belong to any reserved category then you may get the IHM, Mumbai or Delhi, but if you don't then there are less chances of getting into these colleges.
