To get admission in JIPMER Pondicherry MDS, studnets must be eligible. To be eligible for an MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) programme at JIPMER Puducherry, students must hold a recognised BDS degree, and complete a 12-month internship. The final selection is based on INI-CET entrance exam, participating in the centralised counseling process, and completing document verification.

JIPMER offers undergraduate, postgraduate, super-specialty, and doctoral programmes including MBBS, BSc, MD, MCh, DM, PDF, PDCC, MS, etc. These courses are offered in full-time mode. Students must appear for relevant entrance exams for admission. The accepted exams are NEET, INI CET, INI SS, etc. The institute also conducts its own entrance exam for PDF/ PDCC courses.

No, direct admission is not available at JIPMER. Admission to all courses like MBBS, B.Sc., and PG programs is entrance-based through national tests such as NEET-UG, INI SS, INI-CET, etc., followed by centralised counselling.

5% of the seats are reserved horizontally to PwD students as per the rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. If no eligible, students are available for a seat allotted for PwBD under a category, the seat will be filled by various students from the same category. eg an unfilled UR-PwBD seat will be filled
based on merit by an eligible student from UR category.
The no. & distribution of seats may vary depending upon the periodic directives
decisions from the competent authority & Government of India.

JIPMER Puducherry fee once paid by the college students will never be refunded. If a student decides to withdraw their admission or leaves a course midway, the following rules apply:
- Caution Deposits: The caution deposit paid by the students is the only refundable fee component & is returned to the student upon successful course completition or when leaving the hostel.
- Academic Fees: The entire amount paid at the time of JIPMER admission will be forfeited.
- Penalty: For MBBS students who withdraw admission after getting a seat, an additional penalty of INR 10,000 will be imposed.
