Let me give few reasons of why you should not join Acharya Mechatronics or Mechatronics at all in VTU. Acharya is doing pretty well in placements. This year itself more than 350 students got placed (most of those are in IT companies). Its big achievement for private state level institute but no core mechatronics company visited the campus (I wonder is there any pure mechatronics company). Very few mechanical companies visited campus and most of those companies were allowing mechatronics student to appear test & interviews. I thing so there is no point in joining mechatronics because at the end of the day you will be working in mechanic

Yes, but you have to write Karnataka State Entrance exam for Engineering then you can avail a seat in the campuses of Bangalore. Also, some private deemed campuses also provide seats without an entrance exam.

Well, if we consider all the colleges in Karnataka, then NITK will be the de-facto #1. Other noteworthy mentions would include IIIT, Bangalore and MIT (Manipal, not Massachusetts.). If Masters/Doctoral courses are included as well, then, there is the one and only, IISc Bangalore.

Dear Deepak, Both the colleges have their own specialisation in their own way. What matter is your comfortable level and in which environment you adapt yourself easily. Please visit the college personally and choose which college provides opportunities that suits you. Regards.
