I got 104 marks in JEE Mains and 81.2% in CBSE boards. Is there any chance to get into any of the NITs or GFTIs?

it is difficult for u to get nit at this marks u got in jee mains
if u r sc/st then only u will get any Nit/Gfti
but go for counseling
if u wait till spot round
then most probably u will get any core branch.

You must have a UG degree from recognized University in any stream/discipline holding a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized institution. Should go through IIBSAT, CAT, XLRI Admission Test (XAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT), ATMA or any equivalent state entrance. test.You must attend

All branches are best. it depends on what is your interest and core area .
you should study what you like . India is huge country we require everything , from a civil engineer to production engineer.
regarding placement i think it has approx. 50%
