Presently, KGMU offers admission to MBBS course on 250 seats. Candidates are selected based on a valid rank obtained in NEET UG entrance exam. At KGMU, all the seats are filled with UP state NEET UG counselling process, which is conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) particularly for the state colleges of KGMU. Admissions to 250 seats are done through NEET UG entrance exam, followed by NEET UP Counselling process. Read more about the NEET UG Counselling procress, here

KGMU Lucknow offers direct admission to only BSc aspirants. For BSc course, the selection is based on the last qualifying exam of Class 12. For other Medical and Dental courses such as MBBS, BDS, MD, DM, etc., candidates are selected based on national-level entrance exams. Admission to these courses is completely based on a valid scores of NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS, etc., entrance exams. Admission to MBBS at KGMU is done via NEET UG scores. To apply for MBBS course at KGMU, aspirants must go through the application process of NEET UG.  The applicants must register, fill out the application form, upload all the scanned images for required documents and make payment of the application fee.  The NTA increased the NEET 2023 application fee by INR 100 for all categories and INR 1,000 for selecting exam cities outside India. The category-wise NEET UG registration fee is tabulated below:

In order to get admission to MBBS at KGMU, there is minimum eligibility criteria for this course. Those who are willing to get admission to MBBS must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects for General category candidates. However, there is a five percent relaxation for reserved category candidates. Candidates from PWD category are required to get 45% and SC/ ST candidates must get minmum of 40% aggregate. Admissions to DM at KGMU is entirely done via NEET SS scores. To apply for KGMU DM admissions, candidates are required to appear for NEET SS entrance exam in the first place. For that, aspirants must fill an online application form on the official website of NEET SS. The application fee for NEET SS is INR 4,425. The step-wise application process  for KGMU is given below:

DM stands for Doctor of Medicine, which is a super-specialised course in the field of Medical. Candidates can only pursue this course after getting a PG degree in Medical. For admission to a three-year DM course at KGMU, aspirants must get a PG degree in either MD/ MS or any equivalent from a recognised institution recognised by Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Admission to this course is entirely based on NEET SS entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for DM is standard for all NEET SS aspirants.
