For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD.

For admission to three-year PG course of MD at KGMU, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates who passed MBBS with 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for this course. The cutoff trend for medical Courses at KGMU - King George's Medical University has been decreasing in recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for medical courses under the General category for all India quota was 767224. In 2022, it decreased to 25581. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 845560 to 31682 for OBC, 900889 to 120239 for SC, 767224 to 24859 for EWS, 767224 to 23381 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for medical education in India continues to grow.

"KGMU - King George's Medical University will release 4-5 rounds of NEET cutoffs for admission to medical courses. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:

  •  The NEET score of the candidate
  •  The category of the candidate
  •  The number of seats available in the course
