A KSOU BCom degree opens the door to career opportunities similar to a traditional, full-time BCom degree. KSOU BCom degree holders can build a career in the private as well as the government sector. Some popular files for a BCom graduate include banking, finance, security market, etc. Some job roles that a BCom graduate can take up inlcude Accountant, Business Executives, Tax Counsellors, Auditors, etc. Graduates can also go for a PG degree to improve their chances of getting employed.

Once the KSOU application form has been submitted, it will be examined by the university's admission committee. The admission committe will verify the uploaded documents. Based on the fulfiment of the eligibility, the university will communicate the final admission decision to the applicants through their registered mobile number. If selected, the university will provide you further information regarding allotment of study centre and other details for induction. Candidates who receive an approval from the university after the document verification must confirm their admission by submitting the course fee applicable to them.

Yes, KSOU offers dual-degree programmes where candidates can pursue two ODL courses simultaneously. Candidates can even pursue one regular degree along with an ODL course of KSOU. However, this does not apply to the PhD programmes. The dual-degree programme was approved by UGC in 2022 and KSOU was the first university in the state to adopt it.

The BCom course offered at KSOU is three-year long. It follows an annual pattern. The curriuculm is based on a credit system where each subject carries certain credit points. Each credit is of 30 hours of study comprising of all learning activities such as studying the self-learning material, participating in the counseling/contact classes, preparing assignment, visiting library/industry/institution, interacting through audio-visual related issues and preparing for exams. To be eligible to pursue BCom at KSOU, applicants must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria specified by the university:

  • Candidates must have passed the Two-Year Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Board in Karnataka State, or any other examination considered equivalent thereto

  • Candidates from other states must have completed 12 years of schooling excluding nursery education
  • Candidates must have completed Pre-University Education in Vocational Courses with relevant subjects conducted by the Department of Vocational Education, Government of Karnataka

Yes, KSOU offers a BCom programme in the (Open & Distance Learning) ODL mode. The minimum duration of the programme is three years and the maximum duration is five years.
