Tests accepted by Brown University are:

1. TOEFL: For admission, applicants have to pass the test TOEFL Internet-based test with a score of minimum hundred.

2. IELTS: The required score is usually a minimum overall band score of 7.0.

3. Test of English as a Foreign Language: An absolute minimum of 120 points will be needed.

4. PTE Academic: It is valid, but there is no further test score minimum.

5. Cambridge English: Both CAE and CPE apply, although there will be might be minimum required scores.

Yes, It is mandatory to take a language paper for all first year UG students. The languages offered at Stella Maris College are Tamil, Hindi, Sanskrit and French for students of Shift I & II, except B.VOC for which only Tamil and French is offered.

English is treated as a domain subject under CUET.

English has been recognised as one among the several domains in the newly formed Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

The CUET exam structure has multiple sections among which Section I has been earmarked for language tests. The candidates are provided the choice of selecting any one from the 13 languages available including English. The first merit list for the B.A. English program at D.G. Ruparel College in 2023 required an open category cut-off of 559. That means, to be eligible for selection in the admission process, students should have secured a minimum 559 marks in their 10+2 results.
