As you have completed your 12th exam now, you can join the engineering college through lateral entry, it will not affect your placement at all.

There is no mention of any domicile requirement for appearing in this exam. But then all examination centers are in Karnataka. It's also a fact that thousands of seats in private engineering colleges are remaining vacant & this is one way of filling these & hence condition of domi
