If candidates are applying for BTech at AKS University through lateral entry, then they will have to commit to a three-year-long programme with the course material spanning over six semesters. Candidates who have a polytechnic diploma can apply for the lateral entry BTech.
Candidates need to have a polytechnic diploma in the same specialisation as the BTech specialisation that they want to apply. If candidates want to apply for BTech without lateral entry, then they’ll have to commit to a four-year-long course which spans over eight semesters.

If you're opting for B.Tech after completion of polytechnic then your 12th marks won't matter, but yes your polytechnic CGPA matters a lot. But, it is also important to get at least 50% in 12th for scholarship purposes.
