Three-Year Period – BTech (Lateral Entry) Course at GITAM, Visakhapatnam enables candidates with diploma in engineering to take direct admission in its second year. Admission to the B.Tech programs of UoD will be done on the basis of the All India common rank list of the JEE Main paper-1. So no lateral admission are here. You have to appear in JEE Main exam on the basis of your Diploma for getting admission here.

Yes, lateral entry to BTech course is offered in 14 specialisations, namely Aerospace, Civil, Biomedical, Biotechnology, Mechanical, Robotics & Automation, etc. The selection to the course is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates must pass Diploma in the concerned Engineering discipline or BSc Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects or BSc Mathematics or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate to apply for the BTech (LE) course.
