No it is not hard to get admission at Loyola College. Admission to UG courses is merit-based, except for Media courses, which require students to pass the Loyola Visual Aptitude Test (LoVAT). Likewise, admission to PG courses is done through a college-based PG entrance test. The university's admission process begins with an online application.

Out of SNU Chennai, Loyola College Chennai, and Madras Christian College. Loyola College has the most affordable tuition fee among BCom colleges in Chennai. The total fee to pursue BCom at Loyola College is INR 47,900 – 2.5 lakh depending on the specialisation chosen.

If we look at the total fee of Madras Christian College and SNU Chennai the total fee is INR 83,760 and INR 7.97 lakh, respectively. Thus the total fee of both the colleges is much higher than Loyola College Chennai.

For the most part, only male students are admitted to Loyola College in Chennai for its undergraduate (UG) programs. Although Loyola College is well-known for its stringent male admissions rules for undergraduate studies, it also offers coeducational postgraduate (PG) programs that accept enrolment from both male and female students. The esteemed college, which is connected to the University of Madras, offers a wide range of highly regarded academic programs in the humanities, sciences, and business.
