The main difference between these two programmes is the length of study and depth of creative study-
BSc in Animation (3 years): It is a technical course with a strong emphasis on execution in animation and visual effects.
BDes in Animation (4 years): A more general course with a strong emphasis on creative thinking and artistic theory. While technical skills are taught, there is an extra year to explore the "art" of storytelling and conceptualisation in detail.
In summary, a BSc in Animation is more technical, whereas a BDes in Animation is more on the creative side.

No, South Indian students don't face any problem in getting admission to Lovely Professional University. The admission process is the same for everyone and is based on your eligibility (12th marks or LPUNEST), not your state or background.
From a student point of view, there's already a large number of students from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, so you'll easily find people from your region. The campus environment is diverse, English is commonly used, and overall adjustment is smooth, so you won't face any real issues.

With a rank like 984 in LPUNEST and 91% in 12th, you're in a strong position for CSE at Lovely Professional University, and you'll likely get good exposure and possibly a solid scholarship as well.
Talking about the environment, it's quite balanced. Academically, there are regular classes, labs, coding culture, and placement-oriented training, so if you're focused, you'll find it productive. For CSE, LPU is often preferred by many because of the number of companies visiting and the overall placement exposure it offers compared to SRM.
From what I've seen, LPU has a wide range of recruiters, so there are usually more chances during placements. SRM, especially the main campus, also has good placements.
Personally, it feels like both colleges provide opportunities, but LPU gives a bit more flexibility and chances because of the scale. At the same time, results in either place still depend a lot on skills and preparation.
