Candidates who passed MBBS with 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for this course. KGMU MD admissions are done based on the NEET PG entrance exam scores, which is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE).

The per year fees for MD/MS Non-Clinical courses at Tagore Medical College, Chennai, this year are as follows:

1. MD in General Medicine: INR 16.5 lakhs
2. MD in Pathology: INR 16.5 lakhs
3. MD in Social and Preventive Medicine: INR 16.5 lakhs
4. MD in Ophthalmology: INR 16.5 lakhs
5. MD in Radiology: INR 16.5 lakhs

The University has released the combined placement data for PG (3-year) Medical courses. A total of 114 PG (3-year) students graduated in 2023. Out of these, 109 students were placed successfully. Earlier, 104 out of 106 PG (3-year) Medical students were placed. For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD.
