The admission to the programme is purely based on the applicants' merit in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID. The test comprsies two stages: prelims and mains. An MSc Interior Design and an MDes Interior Design differ based on their curriculum focus. MSc Interior Design is more focused on the research part of the field; however, the MDes is inclined toward the creativity and functionality aspects of Interior Designing. Now, which option is better is a subjective question, and its answer can vary from person to person.
In my opinion, I would go for MDes in Interior Design in terms of job prospects, skills development, and industry exposure.
