M.Des

The total number of seats in NIFT M.Des 2025 are 275. 

The  NIFT Personal Interviews for M.Des and M.F.M. will be conducted on  May 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and June 2 and 3, 2025. The Exams will be conducted in Delhi. The Call Letter is released on the official website.

The application process for the Master of Design (M.Des.) programme at the National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad for the 2025–26 academic year is structured as follows:

Some core MDes Industrial Design subjects included in Indian curriculum are:

• Framework of Design
• Design and Innovation Methods
• Communication and presentation skills
• Product Interface & Design
• Form and Aesthetics
• Computer Aided Product Detailing
• Applied Ergonomics
• Adv Mat Processes & Die Design

Candidates can bring basic stationery for Art & Design practice and image making like pencils, pens, eraser, sharpener, colours- dry media, etc. They also bring tools, like geometry toolbox, scale, etc. for SMEAT B.Des and M.Des Examination 2025.

The SMEAT waitlist 2025 for M.Des Round 1 will open from May 15, 2025. The last date for the waitlist candidates to pay the first installment is May 22, 2025.

The SMEAT M. Des Round 2 result will be declared on June 16, 2025. The SMEAT Round 2 M Des exam will be conducted from May 28, 2025 to June 07, 2025. The result will be declared on the official website. 

The SMEAT Counselling and Interview for M.Des 2025 Round 2 will begin from May 28, 2025 to June 07, 2025. It will held online. The candidates who have cleared the SOP and EoC round will be eligible for the counselling and Interview round.
